The NorthWest is divided into four major regions namely:
- Bophirima Region,
- Central Region,
- Bojanala, and
- Southern Region.
They are also commonly know by their alternative name:
- Dr Ruth S. Mompati District (Bophirima Region)
- Dr Ngaka Modiri Molema District (Central Region)
- Bojanala Region
- Dr Kenneth Kaunda District (Southern Region)
